Our story
Located in Bucharest, a city bursting with life, Caro is steeped in local history, yet it has a decidedly forward-thinking attitude. It has earned the reputation of being one of the “hippest” hotels in Bucharest, offering a uniquely designed property which perfectly blends the contemporary with the reminders of the past.
From the striking historical exterior, to the warm Romanian welcome waiting for you inside, the emphasis throughout is on comfort and high quality services.
The architectural style dates from the interbellum period, with the façade being the original one, built in 1930. During the Communist era, the building was used as an alcohol factory which used glucose in the distillation process - an industrial touch that the owners chose to preserve in the design and the naming.
In reconstructing the interior, we paid our respects to the past by conserving the elements with vibrant colours and warm textures: red bricks, metal shapes, small machinery. Discover them, they live to tell our story!
