As of April 2012,
The Caro introduces contemporary art in its space by exhibiting by exhibiting a
series of works on canvas and textile by Daniel Balanescu.
Balanescu
(b.1967) spent his childhood in Targu Jiu, Romania’s mining area and graduated
the Fine Arts University in Bucharest (1997).

His works, in
mixed tecniques, are inspired by personal or universal themes or fears:
invasion of privacy („Matrix”), freedom („Happy Man”), the alcoholic (Nea Gigi, Leaving Las Vegas”). In various
colours, Balanescu’s works may approach sad themes in vivid colours („Leaving”,
„Fear” ).
RunAway (2011) is
a series about the run after targets, correct or erronous ones, imposed or
self-imposed.
„We believe that every journey is somewhat
inspirational as well. This is why we considered that contemporary art matches
well our hotel space. In a conscious or
non-conscieous manner, we hope that these works will invite to meditation those
who visit us. ”
